Apple’s revenue in the fourth quarter of 2021 was not as big as predicted, although the figure continued to grow compared to the previous period. Apple CEO Tim Cook said this was related to supply constraints from iPhones, iPads and Macs.

“We had a very strong performance despite greater-than-expected supply constraints. (Losses) due to supply we estimate around USD 6 billion (equivalent to Rp. 85 trillion),” said Tim Cook, quoted from CNBC, Friday (10/29/2021).

according to Tim Cook, supply constraints are driven by industry-wide chip shortages. In addition, the disruption of manufacturing in Southeast Asia due to Covid.

Even so, Apple’s overall revenue rose 29 percent and each product experienced an increase in revenue. Here are the details:

– Earnings per share (EPS): USD 1.24 (Rp 17 thousand).

– Revenue USD 83.36 billion

– iPhone revenue USD 38.87 billion

– Service revenue USD 18.28 billion

– Revenue from other products: USD 8.79 billion

– Mac revenue: USD 9.18 billion

– iPad revenue: USD 8.25 billion

– Gross margin: 42.2 percent

From the above revenue, iPhone sales rose 47 percent year over year, but still below Wall Street predictions.

Tim Cook said Apple expects solid year-on-year (yoy) revenue growth in December.

Even so, Tim Cook also said, Apple may face higher supply constraints, estimated at more than USD 6 billion.
